Dilip Ghosh calls for surgical strike after Pahalgam terror attack; Slams State over SSC protest crisis

BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has strongly reacted to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, calling for a surgical strike across the border. "If necessary, go back into Pakistan and carry out a surgical strike," Ghosh said, underlining that the entire nation supports such actions. The attack, which resulted in significant casualties, has raised concerns about the safety and stability of Kashmir, a region that had been experiencing relative peace. Ghosh also expressed his worry over the economic impact the attack would have on the region, as well as the psychological toll it would take on the local population, who were previously living without the threat of terrorism.

In his statement, Ghosh highlighted the unfortunate timing of the attack, stating that it would put additional pressure on Kashmir’s already fragile economy. “The people of Kashmir were living happily, and this incident has shaken their lives,” he said. He further called on all political parties to support the central government's response to the attack, emphasizing the importance of unity during such crises. “Instead of criticizing, the opposition should stand with the center in this time of crisis,” he added.

The BJP leader also addressed the ongoing protests by candidates seeking jobs through the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC). These candidates have been staging protests due to delayed recruitment processes, and Ghosh criticized the state government’s handling of the issue. He pointed out that 26,000 teacher jobs had been lost, leading to a shortage of staff in schools across the state. “The future of West Bengal is dark. Thousands of students are left without proper education as many schools are without teachers,” he said, drawing attention to the negative impact on the education system.

Ghosh also took a strong stance on the handling of protests in Bengal, which he termed as a regular occurrence under the current state government. He accused the state administration of creating problems that are difficult to resolve, further exacerbating issues like unemployment and the lack of job opportunities. His comments come amid mounting frustration over the government’s failure to address the grievances of job seekers, particularly those who have been protesting for the past few days in front of the SSC building.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari also expressed his anger over the terrorist attack. In a separate incident, Adhikari was seen comforting the family of Bitaan Adhikari, a tourist killed in the Pahalgam attack, at Kolkata airport. The deceased’s wife broke down upon seeing Adhikari, who picked up the victim’s three-and-a-half-year-old child in an emotional moment. Adhikari later made a strong statement, vowing to seek justice for the victims and criticizing those responsible for the attack.
